Pilates Classes

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century and is an effective way to help build core strength or recover from injury.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is practiced around the world and is suitable for all body types and fitness levels and seeks to strengthen all areas of the body with a particular focus on core and alignment. I offer a number of different classes across the week at a number of different locations.

Benefits of Pilates

I encourage my clients to work at a level suitable for them and it is easy to scale the exercises up and down as ability progresses. Being mindful of the breath is key throughout and I like to conclude my classes with a short relaxation. Benefits of Pilates can include:

  • Strengthens and tones all muscles in the body.
  • Alleviates back pain and strengthens muscles in the back.
  • Increases mobility and flexibility of the spine.
  • Improves posture and alignment in the body.
  • Helps to bring an overall sense of wellbeing to the mind.

If you prefer to attend classes in-person then see below for current classes running in the North West Kent area. Please note – in-person classes operate in block bookings at £9 per class or £11 PAYG. Please purchase an in-person membership or individual class to book.

Private Classes

Whilst I teach a number of different classes to suit mixed ability, I do also offer private classes if you feel you have a particular need that you wish to focus on or you would like to try some classes privately first before venturing into a class. Then do get in touch to see how we can help. All private classes can be arranged at a mutually convenient time.

Class Description

All of my Pilates classes are mixed ability and are mat based. Pilates is a challenging but safe way to sculpt your body, all classes will focus on building strength, increase flexibility and work towards balancing all muscle groups in the body. We can use a range of different equipment in our classes including a foam block, resistance bands, spiky balls, wobbly cushions and Pilates balls. Please bring along your own mat or let me know if you need me to bring one for you.
